Neil P. Cherubin
-
Neil has been admitted to the State Bars of Colorado, Florida, and California, and has also practiced in various appellate courts, federal district and bankruptcy courts, and the United States Tax Court. Neil started his legal career in Northern California’s Bay Area after graduating from the University of San Francisco School of Law in 2009, where he served in the moot court case counsel honors program.
After five years in real estate and business litigation, estate planning and probate, and civil defense litigation, Neil and his family relocated to South Florida, where he was raised. His six and a half years in Florida continued in these same fields. In 2021, Neil and his family fulfilled a long-term dream by moving to Colorado, where he joined Tueller & Gibbs to continue his real estate and business litigation practice.
Neil is particularly adept at finding a way to workable and equitable resolutions for his clients. Where that is not an option, he has substantial first-chair arbitration, appellate, and jury and bench trial experience. His first published opinion was a successful appeal of a complex attorney fee-shifting provision, and the notice requirements for recovery of such fees, resolving a split of authority and overturning district precedent.
He credits his years of practice, in three states, in myriad forums, and with firms of every size, for fostering a flexible, all-angles approach to problem solving and litigation strategy. In his spare time, Neil enjoys hiking with his family, snowboarding, and scuba diving. Before Tina and Tom were born, he enjoyed traveling quite a bit more frequently, and studied international law for a summer at Trinity College in Dublin and Univerzita Karlova in Prague. Neil supports Liverpool, the Steelers, Penguins, and Florida Gators.
